Lamar Hunt Jr.
Lamar Hunt Jr. [1](born October 20, 1956) is owner of a North American ECHL professional hockey team. [2]He purchased sole ownership of the Missouri Mavericks in January 2015. He later changed their name to the Kansas City Mavericks[3] in June 2017. Team ownership is part of his family legacy as he is also the son of Lamar Hunt, who founded the American Football League and the Kansas City Chiefs NFL team.[4] Recently Forbes named the Hunt family #16 on Americans richest families list,[5] worth $13.7 Billion dollars.

Hunt graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 1979. Then he played flute for the Kansas City Symphony for nine seasons.[6] Today he serves on the board of the Kansas City Symphony.[7]
As a founder of Loretto Companies, Lamar Hunt Jr. has distinct ventures in real estate, sports, and his charitable giving. Under Loretto Commercial, Hunt Jr. works to develop commercial projects that thrive and are sustainable in order to add to the quality of life in Kansas City. The Loretto Foundation helps to build strong families and encourage spiritual growth by focusing on Catholic schools and charities in the Kansas City area.[8] Loretto Sports Ventures is closely tied to hockey with his overall goal of growing the youth game of ice hockey by bringing the highest level of youth hockey to the Kansas City metro.[9]
