Madina Nalwanga

Ugandan actress

Madina Nalwanga (born February 2, 2002)[1] became famous for her lead role in Disney's Queen of Katwe. The film depicts the life of Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan girl living in a slum in Katwe.[2] For her role in the film, she won most promising actor award at 2017 Africa Movie Academy Awards in Lagos, Nigeria.[3]

Early life change

Born in the poor Kampala's slum of Katwe, she spent their childhood selling corn on the streets of Katwe.[4]
