Miranda Hart
Miranda Katharine Hart-Dyke (born 14 December 1972) is a British actress, writer and comedienne. She writes, produces and stars in the television sitcom Miranda. Her other acting roles include: Hyperdrive, Not Going Out and Call the Midwife. She also appeared in Spy (2015) and played Miss Bates in the 2020 movie Emma.
Hart has written five books: Is It Just Me? (2012), a semi-autobiographical book; The Best of Miranda (2014), a compilation of scripts from the TV series; Peggy and Me (2016), a description of her life since owning her titular dog; Miranda Hart's Daily Dose of Such Fun! (2017), in partnership with Comic Relief; and I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with You (2024).[1]
It was announced in February 2017 that Hart would star as "Miss Hannigan" in the West End production of Annie.[2]
In 2017, Hart presented the Royal Variety Performance while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in attendance.[3] This made her the first solo female presenter in 105 years.[3]
Personal life
changeShe was born in Torquay, Devon. Her parents are Diana Margaret Luce and David Hart Dyke. Miranda grew up in Petersfield, Hampshire.
In October 2024, during an appearance on The One Show to promote her book I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You, Hart revealed she had got married.[4]
In October 2024, Hart revealed that she had Lyme disease.[5]
