Shah of Iran from 1941 to 1979

Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (Persian: محمد رضا پهلوی, October 16, 1919 – July 27, 1980) was the last Shah of Iran from the 1941 abdication of his father, until the Iranian Revolution in 1979. After the 1979 revolution, led by Ruhollah Khomeini the government of Iran changed into an Islamic republic.

He died at a Cairo hospital from chronic lymphocytic leukemia on July 27, 1980 at the age of 60.
