(Redirected from Orphism)

Orphism is a mystic religion of ancient Greece. It originated in the 7th or 6th century BC. Based on poems (now lost) attributed to Orpheus, the religion stressed the need for individuals to rid themselves of the evil part of their nature. They could accomplish this through ritual and moral purification throughout a series of reincarnations.
