In September 1981, United Pharmacy and Western Drug Mart both merged together to create the Pharmasave chain.[2]
On March 1st, 2023, Ivan Guillen was named as the new Chief Executive Officer of Pharmasave Drugs.[3] On May 22, 2024, Air Miles announced that they had signed a deal for Pharmasave to become the exclusive pharmacy partner for the rewards program in Canada.[4]
On September 14, 2023, the ownership of the Pharmasave store in Fort Frances, Ontario was purchased and taken over by Shoppers Drug Mart.[5]
