Robert M. Pirsig

American writer and philosopher (1928–2017)

Robert Maynard Pirsig (September 6, 1928 – April 24, 2017)[1] was an American writer and philosopher.[2] He is known for writing many philosophy books. They include: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values (1974) and Lila: An Inquiry into Morals (1991).

Pirsig was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He died on April 24, 2017 at his home in South Berwick, Maine from a long-illness, aged 88.[3]
