Serpico is a 1973 Italian American biographical crime movie directed by Sidney Lumet and was based on the novel of the same name by Peter Maas. It stars Al Pacino, Tony Roberts, Jack Kehoe, Allan Rich, Biff McGuire, Joseph Bova, James Tolkan, Judd Hirsch, F. Murray Abraham and was distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was nominated for 2 Academy Awards in 1974.
