Shah Idrees[1][2][3][4] is a Kashmiri actor and model known for his work in the Indian entertainment industry.[5] He was born on February 25th, 2005, in Lolab Kupwara,[6] Kashmir. Idrees began his career in the entertainment industry as a television actor before moving into the music industry and later making his debut in Bollywood. He is known for his romantic and villainous roles and has been recognised for his work both in India and overseas.[7][8]
Early life and career change
Shah Idrees was born into a Muslim family in Lolab Kupwara, Kashmir, to Ali Muhammad, a police officer, and Mumtaza Beagum. Idrees began his career in the entertainment industry as a television actor before moving on to the music industry.[9] His album "Malanga" has over 1.5 million views on YouTube, and his song Wadas Wafa has over 6.3 lakh views and was the first Kashmiri song to be captured in Dubai.[10] In 2022, Idrees made his Bollywood debut with "Malanga," which won the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award. He has also worked with brands such as Amazon and Flipkart and is considered the most successful Kashmiri star in the world today.[11]
