Stephen P. Cohen
American political scientist
Stephen Philip Cohen (1936 – October 27, 2019) was an American political scientist and professor of security studies.[1] He was a known expert on Pakistan, India, and South Asian security.[2][3][4][5]

He was a senior fellow in foreign policy studies at the Brookings Institution and an emeritus professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.[6][7] He authored at least 12 books,[2] and named as one of America's 500 most influential people in foreign affairs.
Cohen died on October 27, 2019 at the age of 83.[8]

and was a Senior Fellow at the Washington DC-based think tank the Brookings Institution and considered as the "dean of the Pakistan experts." He was known as one of the world's most trusted civilian authorities on the Pakistani military and its relationship with the civilian governments.
