No picture change

Why is there no picture? 27.252.88.159 (talk) 05:19, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I’ve been thinking if I should add some Stupstup (talk) 04:53, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nether Section change

The Nether section on this page needs some work. I'm not going to pretend I'm a Wikipedia expert, but that sounds more biased towards the game. I don't know, it just seems excited/exciting, and it just doesn't feel right on Wikipedia, you know what I mean? 206.193.247.226 (talk) 08:45, 1 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Different Guy: I edited and added stuff to the Nether section. Didn't change the first part though. You guys can change that.

Mutliplayer change

Different Guy: I added this section.

The tone here was not suitable for an encyclopaedic. It was written like a game guide, and other parts of the article still have that problem. I had to remove a lot of it, though I managed to rephrase some. Help on writing articles about video games can be found here. Osiris (talk) 01:42, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

History change

I updated the history section with the part of notch selling the game company to microsoft

Picture..? change

Why is that picture being used? It honestly resembles a rip-off logo of a clone. Perhaps an in-game screenshot could be used if the actual logo shouldn't be used? (Or heck the actual logo if it can be used) PrimordialTaco 14:56, 20 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

En-wiki has a thing called fair use. I am not sure if that applies here despite N.A. English being dominant here. Darubrub (Let me know) 15:13, 6 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
hmm i never actually noticed that. maybe Wikipedia mods or editors or sum can talk with Mojang/ Microsoft about using their logo. NotSum1Special (talk) 20:24, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Image change

Hello editors! I was considering adding an image of my own builds in Minecraft to the article about Minecraft, however I am confused with copyright. Am I allowed to put an image of my own build in Minecraft? The game is copyrighted, but I think I have the copyright to my own work in Minecraft (the build)

That's not how copyright works, go ahead and add it just make sure it is useful to the article. Laptop Fizz (talk) 03:48, 1 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Removed issues box change

I just removed the issues box from the page. After extensive editing, I think the issues should be fixed now.

  • I rewrote the intro to better describe the game rather than just listing versions, so it should fit with Wikipedia.
  • There seem to be plenty of sources now, especially compared to the 2014 version when that issue was added.
  • The article seems to be up-to-date, I don't see anything which is missing.
  • I got rid of the sections which didn't fit with Wikipedia (and added their information elsewhere, where it did fit), so the tone should be fine.

Please add the box back if any issues remain.

change

To be very clear, the vectorized logo is definitely not the game's logo. Who the heck put it? Ely - Talk 15:26, 30 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal change

I propose merging Minecraft: Pocket Edition into this article. The page is very short, and because Pocket Edition is no longer being developed, there probably isn't much more that can be added. Pocket Edition also is just a different version of Minecraft, like the Xbox or New Nintendo 3DS Editions - it's not a separate game like Minecraft Dungeons. We could add a new section (something like "Editions") where we can also talk about Java and Bedrock. Tymewalk (talk) 07:36, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Support. These are convincing and senseful arguments.-- Maxeto0910 (talk) 19:27, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

i agree. PE is the second most popular edition of the game, and like you stated, it isnt like PE is a separate game. glad i saw this, this is a great idea! NotSum1Special (talk) 20:22, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Support "PE" is no longer a thing, and the page about it is short. I think it should just be merged.— *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 21:57, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Adding link to Minetest change

I know that the link to Minetest does not exist yet, but I think adding the link is a good idea. So far, I got some progress at User:Qwertyxp2000/Minetest. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | changes) 03:49, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
