The Patriarch
changeSt Peter's is the Basilica that would be used by the Patriarch of Constantinople if ever he were to visit Rome and the Vatican.
- I have put this sentence here pending further investigation. It's unsourced, and is speculative, since the crucial bit begins with "if".
Checked info. It really needs more explanation Amandajm (talk) 12:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Um, why is this category included in this article? So far as I can see, St. Peter's has little if anything to do with the Eastern Orthodox Church. John Carter (talk) 20:09, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- No idea - What is the meeting place of the Eastern Orthodox in Rome? --Eptalon (talk) 20:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- This page says they've used San Teodoro since 2004. John Carter (talk) 21:47, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I guess if they have never used it (and there is on other connection), you can remove the cat; don't ask me how it got there...--Eptalon (talk) 21:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, there is a link, dating back to the 4th century. St Peter's was the church in Rome of the Bishop of Constantinople. St John's was the church of the Bishop of Rome, and that is why it is Rome's cathedral, not St Peter's. St Maria Maggiore was the church of the Bishop of Antioch. A few years back- 1981, I think it was, I was in Rome when the various Orthodox Patriarchs were there, and attended a service at Santa Maria Maggiore. There were about 30 bishops and cardinals present. Amandajm (talk) 15:54, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
lay-out mistake
changeThe words "Saint Peter's Basilica" (in the infobox) and the geo coordinates are on top of each other. Tested it in Chrome, Firefox and IE9. What is the problem? (further discussion please on en:User_talk:Rchard2scout. 62.131.126.171 (talk) 19:48, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
