Changed the description of the intro picture from "This person chooses to dress as female..." to current. The phrasing is still problematic- is making a distinction between sex and gender to complex for this article? I dont think so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.145.197.107 (talkcontribs) I'd say it's fine as long as it's phrased well. The writing is also a little ambiguous for something that's supposed to be simple. Aesthareon (talk) 17:26, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Original research change

The majority of this article seems like original research, with very few substantiated statements, and some of the OR is just wrong. A lot of this article urgently needs references, or the OR statements need to be removed. Mathglot (talk) 19:32, 13 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Most of the statements marked as not having a source are common knowledge. Unless you live under a rock, you know that trans people face all sorts of discrimination and violence. Adding sources to these statements would be like citing the fact that water is wet. 2600:1000:B000:2FA2:9A33:0:A1BE:1A31 (talk) 14:30, 25 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

note about MTF/FTM change

I'm not great with wikis, so I figured I'd just put this here as a talk entry. Is there some way that comports with wiki guidelines that we can cram in there some brief tidbit about how not all binary trans people are fans of the terms "MTF" and "FTM" and sometimes prefer things such as "transfem" and "transmasc" instead? --— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.227.80.105 (talkcontribs) 07:46, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

It could be mentioned with a citation certainly. The most common phrases are MTF and FTM from what I gather though. I don't think it would be due weight to only mention one, so you are right that it should be added if it is another common phrase. IWI (chat) 09:50, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
