The Mask

The Mask is a 1994 American fantasy comedy movie. In this movie, Jim Carrey plays Stanley. Cameron Diaz plays Tina.

Two scuba divers are swimming through in a river in a place that is called Edge City, they find a old chest that is buried there so they open it which a green mask comes out of it, and starts flowing away. Stanley Ipkiss an everyday person sees it floating, after he has a bad day of dealing with mechanics who ripped him off by giving him an old car and he is then denied entry inside the nightclub called the Coco Bongo, which he thought was someone in danger but discovers that it was actually an mask instead. He takes it back with him to his apartment, and he then puts it on which turns him into a green headed, wacky, unpredictable trickster called The Mask. The Mask then takes revenge on the mechanics, by shoving exhaust pipes in their bottoms. Stanley discovers what happened, and later on decides to put it on again so that his alter ego can go inside for him which he does by robbing the bank, that gets the attention of Dorian Tryell who puts a bounty on him.

The Mask was Diaz' first movie. It was also one of the top ten money makers of the year.

This movie got positive reviews from the critics. It made over $351 million worldwide. It was released on July 29, 1994.
