The River (1984 movie)

The River is a 1984 American drama movie directed by Mark Rydell and starring Mel Gibson, Sissy Spacek, James Tolkan, Jack Starrett, Scott Glenn. It was distributed by Universal Pictures and was a box office failure. It was nominated for 5 Academy Awards and won an Academy Award in 1985.
