RfD nomination of Gran Turismo 5 change

An editor has requested deletion of Gran Turismo 5, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2011/Gran Turismo 5 and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much.

helpme change

{{helpme|Why do my pages get removed in spite of the {{wait}} templates? HELPME!!!!!}}

There were different issues with different articles. Some of the issues were:

  • Some of the pages were just links to the English Wikipedia. This is not allowed. Pages here on Simple English Wikipedia should be separate articles, not references to someplace else.
  • At least one of the articles had been copied directly from English Wikipedia. This is one of the specific things that can get a page here quickly deleted. Pages here should be in Simple English -- most pages on English Wikipedia are too complex to be copied here directly.
  • Other pages had sentence fragments that weren't informative or weren't proper encyclopedia articles. Even "stub" articles should be in complete sentences and have some meaningful information.

If you want to continue creating articles here, I suggest that you create one on a subpage of your user page and have someone review it before you put it in the regular article area. If you continue to create a lot of articles with the issues above, you might lose your ability to edit here at all. --Auntof6 (talk) 17:45, 8 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

STOP adding unncessary comments on RfD. The RfD will be open until the closing date or unless an admin closes it. You do not need to advertise it everywhere and keep asking the same question and keep making your point. You've said you think IE is a copy-paste from en. While I agree with you we need to wait until other people have their say. I've told you about this more than once. Consider this a warning. Normandy (talk) 13:15, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Some comments change

You seem to be trying to be a good contributor here, so I have some comments for you.

  1. First, thank you for signing your posts. That is very helpful. :)
  2. When you nominate a page for deletion, as you did with Www.gaganjatt.com, you don't need to use both the quick delete and request for deletion processes. Also, when using quick delete, you only need to specify one reason, not every reason that applies.
  3. On some of the articles you created, you used an edit summary like "Note: This is a stub. Do not QD it, it's just the start, and will expand over time." Articles do not get deleted because they are stubs. There is a difference between a stub article and an article that fits quick delete A1 (little or no meaning) or A2 (no content). Besides that, asking people not to QD an article will not prevent someone from QDing it.
  4. On a similar note, you put a note on Talk:Gran Turismo 4 saying "This is a stub. Anyone want to expand it?". You created that article. If you aren't interested enough to expand it, why would someone else be?

I think that's enough for now. Keep up the good work! --Auntof6 (talk) 21:29, 16 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

The reason why I put "Note: This is a stub. Do not QD it, it's just the start, and will expand over time." is because some-one may QD it because it's small or has little meaning, but if they wait, it will becoe bigger. This has happend to me before with pages like Gran Turismo 5, Rev limiter and Red or black where I create small stubs, and people don't give me chance to make it bigger and better, and just QD it and there it goes in a blink of an eye. As for the last note, is Wikipedia not a community project? Everyone works together.--213.107.74.132 (talk) 07:19, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

An idea: change

Okay I have an idea. When you think you want to create an article write it here in my sandbox. I'll let you use mine as you're not allowed one of your own if you're an IP. It will never be deleted there. Once I, or another editor, thinks its good enough we can move it into its proper place. This way you can work on it and it won't be deleted. Does that sound good? :) Normandy (talk) 11:28, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Don't you think thats a good idea? It means you can work an article until its good enough to stay in its proper place. I've asked an admin to undelete the article and put it in my sandbox where we can both work on it. Normandy (talk) 12:06, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
The sandbox is still blank:(--213.107.74.132 (talk) 12:08, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
We'll give the admin a few minutes to do it, should be there soon. Normandy (talk) 12:10, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Why is there QD's on the sandbox page?--213.107.74.132 (talk) 12:11, 19 September 2011 (UTC)UPDATE: fine now--213.107.74.132 (talk) 12:12, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Its because when Barras undeleted the article its what it was like last. It was the QD that you put on the article before it was deleted. I've fixed it now. It will be fine where it is, no-one will delete it and you can work on it. Normandy (talk) 12:14, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please provide a diff as proof of any bad edits.

Decline reason:

There are various diffs like this one that, are ok if made once or twice, however I am seeing these kind edits in many places. I also see you re-creating articles that have been deleted, only to have them deleted again as not much had been improved. Please take the week off, and come back next week with the mindset that when we criticize your articles, it's not because we don't like or want you, it's because we want to make the best articles possible. When you come back, I hope you will be willing to work with us, and take our advice when writing articles. User:Normandy's idea is a good one. Creating pages in a sandbox, making sure they are up to scratch, and then moving them into mainspace is a good way to write quality articles. We need to make sure that all articles we create are good before we start working on other articles. I look forward to working with you when you come back in a weeks time. Thanks. -- Gordonrox24 | Talk 15:04, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

British vs. American English change

There is nothing wrong with British English, and there is nothing wrong with American English. Both are acceptable here, but you should not change from one to the other without a specific reason. An example of a reason is to use British English in an article that is about a British topic. The topics you changed, Irrational number and Color blindness, are not specifically British so the spelling does not need to be changed. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:02, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Are they specifically American?--213.107.74.132 (talk) 21:05, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, they are not specifically either one. In such cases, the spelling should be left as it was. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:07, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
