School IP address Welcome to Wikipedia, school user! Please note the following:

This IP address, 5.158.88.106, is registered to East Midlands Public Services Network (EMPSN Schools), and may be shared by many different people. If this school uses proxy servers, many people at different computers, or even at different schools in an area, can connect to the Internet through this same IP address. Because of this, a message meant for one person may be read by another, often someone who has not done anything wrong, and a block of this IP address will mean that everyone using this address will not be able to change Wikipedia.

If you are making changes from this address and are getting messages that are not for you, you can avoid this by creating your own account. If you cannot do this, it most likely means that doing so has been stopped so that other users cannot make any bad changes. You will then have to make an account at home and log in with it here.

Please think before blocking this IP. If a block is needed, admins should consider a soft block.

Note: If this address is used for vandalism over and over again, making changes without an account may be disabled for up to 1 year at a time, and abuse reports may be sent to the people who run the school in cases of long-term disruption by people with accounts.
School staff, to monitor this IP address for disruptive changes, can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

August 2017 change

Please do not add wrong information into articles, as you did to Ringo Starr. Your changes appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please provide a source for your information or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Auntof6 (talk) 09:36, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the change, consider creating an account so you can avoid notices that are not for you.

Please do not remove quick deletion tags from articles, as you did to "Darren simpson", without a good reason. If you think the article should not be deleted, please explain your reason on the article's talk page. Thank you. J991 09:37, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Why vandalize? change

Jimbo says, "If you are here to vandalize, why don't you turn around and become a contributor instead?"

Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci
Why vandalize? A bot or a person will revert your changes soon after they are made and then what do you have left? Nothing! If you make constructive edits -- that is, edits that improve the encyclopedia -- there is a chance that those edits will last for years, perhaps even for decades or longer. If, instead of painting and drawing, Leonardo da Vinci had tagged buildings with the 15th-century equivalent of graffiti, there would be nothing left of his work today and he would not be famous. But he chose to create works of art and science instead. Those works have inspired millions and have endured to modern times. Please consider becoming a constructive contributor. If you have questions about how to get started, please feel free to ask them below and someone will get back to you. Regards, Etamni | ✉   13:59, 4 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
