Just a note change

Please try to not bite the newcomers. Newcommers will not know about the MOS, and it is perfectly acceptable for them to add information that is not formated correctly. Instead of reverting blindly if possible fix the addition and then let them know what they could have done better. Remember we want to try and attract new people here. -DJSasso (talk) 14:12, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, dear change

Hello, dear Chem! I've just noticed your edit to Pineapple Cake. I love Pineapple Cake too (although, sadly, I've never had a chance to overeat it before). :) Speaking of Pineapple Cake, I was wondering if you would be interested in WikiProject Baking? We need people like you, and every active member is welcome to join. Well, anyway, thank you for your good work on wiki and I hope you enjoy your day! With heartfelt love, Bella tête-à-tête 00:45, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

A science question change

An edit was made last night to Antimatter that fundamentally changed the meaning of the article. I thought you might be as good a person as any to ask about it. Do you know if this is a legitimate edit? [1] Kansan (talk) 18:40, 26 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for clearing this up! It's good to have people around who know more about science than I do. Kansan (talk) 00:30, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Vital articles. change

Thanks for your comment at simple talk. If you've got any suggestions for the definitions of "Class x" please voice them. Once there is consensus to have a certain type of tag, we can get busy adding to the vital articles, but I think as the tag will contain the assessment, it would be a bit of a waste of time to add Template:Vital to all 1000 of them at this stage. Why? (talk) 13:40, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Do you think it would be better to classify articles by length, rather than quality ? The issue with doing it by bytes is that an article can be quite long (i.e. Henry VIII of England) while having problems. However, it may be better to simply point out article issues with existing tags (Template:Complex and so forth). Thanks. Why? (talk) 14:07, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm going to make a set of talk page templates with assessments for the vital articles (A, B, Stub, GA, VGA). Once I'm done, I'll send you links to them if you'd like to assess any of the articles on the list. Thanks. Why? (talk) 14:12, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the offer. I've made Template:Vital-stub so far. Why? (talk) 14:15, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Race track change

Seriously, they did. Race tracks are useful because they are very large spaces that aren't used very often (especially since during wars, the racehorses are appropriated for the cavalry). For example, in during the American Civil War, a race track in Charleston, South Carolina was used as a prison and later a cemetery Purplebackpack89 23:32, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

History of the U.S. and religion change

Can you think of an instance where religion isn't talked about, but should be? If so, start a thread at the TP and I'll address it. I think religion is fairly well covered: The First and Second Great Awakenings are significantly covered (the first in reference to being a mass movement that foretold the Am Rev; the second as leading to the major 19th century reform movements), and there are also mentions about "City on a Hill", religion in the 1920s, and the Religious Right. I'm a soft Christian, and I believe the whole "U.S. was founded based on the Bible" thing is somewhat inaccurate, because Jefferson and many of the other founders were deists Purplebackpack89 04:26, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Organizational Debate at History of the United States change

Hey, there's an organizational debate going on at Talk:History of the United States regarding sectioning of Post-World War II content. Since you have contributed to the article, you might want to take a look at it Purplebackpack89 04:50, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Flood change

Hi, Chem. :) Thanks for your good work here around the wiki, it's much appreciated! I noticed you were making many small changes today. Next time when you do this, could you please ask me or any other admin for a flood flag so your changes will be hidden from the recent changes? This helps us spot vandalism more easily. Thanks! Warmly, —Clementina talk 12:38, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Changing other people's user pages change

I'm referring to this change. You are correct saying that he is no longer an admin, but it is practice to not change other people's user pages without warning them. Please notify people on their talk pages before hand. Thank you :) Yottie =talk= 22:34, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your email change

And what does that have to do with the wiki...? Don't abuse email or I'll simply report it and get it revoked, it's intended for wiki-related matters only. Goblin 08:14, 8 November 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Microchip08!Reply

Please show me a guideline that states that e-mail is not to be used for non-wiki chat/socializing. I always assumed that it was to be used for non-wiki chat and sensitive wiki issues. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 11:44, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
How about WP:NOT? Wikipedia shouldn't be used for socialising, if you want to get in touch with me about non-wiki issues, I have a perfectly good website. You're correct about sensitive issues, but not really about non-wiki chat. Goblin 15:35, 8 November 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Yottie!Reply
I do not think your email address is xxx@wikipedia.com, although the e-mail was supposed to be a "Simple English Wikipedia email". Well I posted an anonymous question (not mentioning names) at WP:AN to see what other admins and users think about it. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 15:37, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I do not see anything about email in that; there is only a regulation that talk pages shouldn't be used for socializing. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 15:40, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
