Welcome change

Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need help. MathXplore (talk) 12:39, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Will do! Thank you. Illusion Flame (talk) 12:41, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your edit on Talk:Main Page change

The topic itself may not be about improving the article, but it was not really disruptive or destructive in any way. You can look at the topic above the one you reverted and see that it is not about the main page at all, but still kept because it is not disruptive or destructive. Thank you however. Angerxiety+ 02:10, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but the user clearly wanted to add their information/comment to a different page, so I warned them and Lights and Freedom directed them to the correct page. It should all be handled now. Illusion Flame (talk) 02:13, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Just noticed a before-hand edit. Oops. Thank you for telling me. Angerxiety+ 02:15, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yep. Happy editing! Illusion Flame (talk) 02:17, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your report at WP:VIP change

While looking at this, I noticed that you had struck out users' comments on Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2023/Shuxelk language. If you see a problem like this with another user's comments on an RfD, please do not strike out the comments. Instead, just leave a comment. I have undone your strikeouts and will continue looking at the VIP report. You are welcome to put your comments back without striking. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 17:56, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Auntof6 Why should sockpuppets votes not be struck in RfDs? They are all blocked for sockpuppetry, and all trying to sway the discussion. Illusion Flame (talk) 20:22, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
For example, voters User:Stoatery and User:Cintrocity whose votes I struck are blocked for sockpuppetry on simple. I struck User:Brett Rivera’s vote because they are a sock of the same user, but are not blocked yet. That is why I also reported to VIP. I know they are a sock because they are blocked on English wiki. Illusion Flame (talk) 20:46, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I didn't say they shouldn't be struck. I just asked you not to do it. It's better to leave the striking out for admins so that you aren't seen as interfering with another user's comments, no matter how problematic they might be. I'm sorry I left that part out. -- Auntof6 (talk) 21:52, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
That makes so much more sense! Thanks for clarifying. Illusion Flame (talk) 21:53, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Rollback granted change

Hi Illusion Flame, I've given you rollback as you requested it. Remember to only use rollback for obvious vandalism, and not good faith edits. If you'd like to test it out, please go here. Thank you for your contributions! :) --Ferien (talk) 20:40, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sysop only actions change

There are a few things that only sysops should do like clearing WP:VIP. Those reports should be left up as that is something sysops look to to see what has been happening. Yes, the VIP page needs to be cleared on occasion. But this is something best left to the sysops. Additionally, looking at the discussion above about striking comment on RfDs, that's generally CheckUsers do after confirming connection to other accounts. Definitely report the issue at WP:RFCU so we can though. :) Operator873 connect 02:35, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the helpful advice. I will implement it and won’t clear VIP reports or strike votes. @Operator873 the votes mentioned in the above discussion haven’t been struck, so if you get a chance, please check it out! Illusion Flame (talk) 02:37, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Apologies, I don't want to send mixed signals. I did send a thanks to Illusion Flame for clearing VIP after my most recent block as it saved me a click. But yes, in general, what Operator873 has said above is standard. Sorry for any confusion. --Gordonrox24 | Talk 02:40, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I was wondering about that, so thanks for clearing it up! Illusion Flame (talk) 02:42, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Invite change

You are inviting to join us in the simple english channel on the Wikimedia Community Discord server. This server has hundreds of people including many stewards and sysops. It can be used to cordinate crosswiki vandal reverts and more. The server invite link can be found on the enwiki. here Bobherry Talk My Edits 02:54, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but I don’t have discord. Sorry! Illusion Flame (talk) 02:55, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Protection change

Are you okay if I semi-protect your talk page? Also...it's not always a good idea to revert-war LTAs like this. Best to wait until they log off, then revert, rather than giving them the constant attention they want. Best, Vermont 🐿️ (talk) 02:56, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do! Illusion Flame (talk) 02:57, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see you have protected it for 1 year. Please reduce to 1 month because I want anon users to be able to contact me after that. Illusion Flame (talk) 02:59, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

QD tags change

Please do not delete QD tags as with Solarisbank. Admins review the QD queue. The other similar spam was already QD'd, but you removed this one from admin attention. Use "Wait" if you disagree as noted in the tag display on the article. Thanks, --Gotanda (talk) 23:34, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have added my reasoning on the TP. Your reply is appreciated. Illusion Flame (talk) 23:36, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Note about rollback tool change

Per WP:ROLL Rollback shouldn't be used to revert good faith edits like the edit where we both QDed the same article at the same time. That should have been a undo button. Rollback should normally only be used to revert bad faith vandalism. Thanks! Bobherry Talk My Changes 02:13, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I know, I just thought you wouldn’t mind be quickly removing your mistake of QDing after I had already done so. I was just trying to be quick and efficient, and I thought you wouldnt mind. Illusion Flame (talk) 02:18, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Changes on User talk:Marrakech change

Those changes you reverted were actually mine ( as an I.P) Yeah I know, I should have logged in, so that's on me. Thank you for reverting , however. As far as you knew it was someone else and we can't change anyone else's words! Wekeepwhatwekill  Speak! 17:34, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for letting me know and sorry! Illusion Flame (talk) 20:23, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Question about SWViewer change

Hi! A question about SWViewer which you introduced me too earlier, is it possible to report users to AIV or VIP on it, or will it report them automatically after level 4? Thanks so much, Dylan | ✉   16:58, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

It will automatically report after a level 4 or 4-im warning. Illusion Flame (talk) 17:50, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

RFDs change

Hi, Illusion Flame. Thanks for your Wiki clerking at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion. Be aware, though, that there is no requirement to have only 5 entries listed under recently closed discussions. Some admins trim to that number when they close requests, but it's not required. -- Auntof6 (talk) 03:42, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the kind message @Auntof6. When I was clerking before, I was curious about how many listings should be at the end, and as you stated, it appears 5 was the one most sysops chose. I appreciate you informing me that this isn’t a requirement, so I will take that into consideration when clerking further. Illusion Flame (talk) 11:15, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
My perspective is to base it on time, rather than number. If I close 10 requests, it doesn't make sense to me to leave only five in the recently closed section. I know people can find ones they're interested in by other means, but having them stay on the page for a certain amount of time makes it easier. -- Auntof6 (talk) 15:33, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
That’s a good point. Thanks for pointing that out. Illusion Flame (talk) 17:11, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
You also don't need to do it when we are in the middle of closing RfDs. I am still closing some more, and then when I'm done I will do them all at once. Thanks :) --Ferien (talk) 21:17, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I didn’t know you were in the process of closing multiple at once, just trying to be helpful. I guess I’m a better editor than mind reader. :) Illusion Flame (talk) 21:27, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, actually looking in recent changes, it isn't that clear at all. I usually go and reply to some comments on RfDs, between other closures, which isn't really something I've seen others do. So no worries :) --Ferien (talk) 21:29, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I usually will cut the number to 5 or 10 depending on how many I have closed, or how recently they were closed. If I have closed more than 10, then I will just move them and not cut it at all. --Ferien (talk) 21:18, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
