RfD nomination of Category:American thriller movies by genre change

An editor has requested deletion of Category:American thriller movies by genre, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Category:American thriller movies by genre and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. --Ferien (talk) 09:23, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

User talk:41.33.151.132 change

There is no need to warn a user twice using the exact same warning. If the first warning didn't encourage them to use "Other websites" why would a duplicate warning change that? If you have given a "single-issue warning" and behavioiur is continuing, please write a note yourself and use warning templates wisely. --Ferien (talk) 11:00, 3 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Translation change

Hello MathXplore! Could you please translate a phrase "Yamata-no-Orochi and Keibu Keioiba" into Japanese (writing in kanji itself)? I tried through Google Translate but failed to do so. --Haoreima (talk) 11:05, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yamata-no-Orochi is ヤマタノオロチ(kanji is 八岐大蛇, or 八俣遠呂智, or 八俣遠呂知), but I'm not sure if there is an official Japanese translation of the play that you described. MathXplore (talk) 11:09, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, you misunderstood me. I want the exact translation of the passage, not Yamata-no-Orochi alone but including "and Keibu Keioiba" in kanji. Haoreima (talk) 11:11, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Then I have to regret to inform you that I do not know the kanji for Keibu Keioiba. The only way to translate is to use katakana, but I'm not sure about its way you pronounce in your language. Generally speaking, I don't think Meitei mythology characters have kanji translations. MathXplore (talk) 11:16, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
For further assistance, I suggest you to find a Japanese speaker with Meitei/Manipur knowledge. Answering your question needs not only languages but also expertise, so you have to choose the right person to ask help. In addition, you are expected to avoid usage of Google Translate. MathXplore (talk) 11:21, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please try this only for last time. Currently, google translate doesn't support Meitei. However, I can provide you the Hindi language's Devanagari script's exactly correct transliteration of "Keibu Keioiba". Here, it's "कैबू कैओईबा". Please copy and paste this Hindi text to Google Translate so that you can hear how they pronounce. I tested it. It pronounced accurately. Accordingly, please transliterate it to Kanji! :-) --Haoreima (talk) 11:22, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the script. कैबू कैओईबा (Keibu Keioiba) sounds like ケイブケイバ. So "Yamata-no-Orochi and Keibu Keioiba" would be ヤマタノオロチとケイブケイバ. Although I suggest you to add independent reliable sources before putting this to the article. Needless to say, the discussion at here cannot be used as a reference. Also, please understand that using Kanji for transliteration is very rare. I know Kanji used at transliterations for Buddhism terms and names of nations, but not for Meitei mythology characters. In Japanese, katakana can be used when the kanji is unknown (or too difficult), which is the difference from Chinese sentences. Kanji is important in Japanese, but not all Japanese words have kanji description. MathXplore (talk) 11:33, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Haoreima (talk) 11:37, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

St. Andrew's Cross change

Hi, MathXplore. I see that you linked this page in Wikidata. When you add a link in Wikidata, please check to be sure that the page you're linking matches the Wikidata you're adding it to. Having the same name doesn't mean that there is a match. In this case, the Wikidata item was for disambiguation pages, so our local page shouldn't be linked to that. I have removed the link in Wikidata. --Auntof6 (talk) 20:25, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Authority control change

If you're going to put authority control on loads of pages, please do it correctly instead of breaking the order for so many pages. The order of all the pages you edited is incorrect. Please review w:WP:ORDER. The stub template goes on the bottom and categories go below the authority control templates. You don't need to go through and fix them all now unless you are making another helpful edit, but please pay attention in future. --Ferien (talk) 08:52, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Big Pile of Wesley change

Hello. Please do not RfD an article just two minutes after it was created. Not only is it unfriendly towards the user who created the article just 2 minutes ago, but it also results in things clearly being rushed - for example there is no claim to notability, which you probably could have seen if you had spent more time looking at it... but now it is at RfD, we are going to have a deal with it for a whole week instead of maybe 20 minutes or so. --Ferien (talk) 12:48, 12 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your current changes change

First let me say that THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM, so don't be concerned. I just noticed that, although you currently have the flood flag, a few of your changes are showing up in recent changes anyway. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM because you aren't flooding recent changes by any means, but would you have any idea why this is happening? The changes I see at RC look like category creations. Are you maybe working in more than one window, and the flood flag is active in one but not the other? I'm just curious. I know that this can happen with AWB if you don't do a login after the flag is given, but it doesn't look like you have AWB access. Again, just something curious I noticed -- NOT A PROBLEM! :) --Auntof6 (talk) 07:40, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is not my first time to ask flood tag for categorization works, and category creation appeared in RC also during the previous flood tag. I think flood tag does not hide creations. MathXplore (talk) 07:47, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Interesting. The other interesting thing is that I think Cat-a-lot changes used to not be hidden by the flood flag, but now it appears that they are. They must have fixed that loophole. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:50, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) @Auntof6: and MathXplore, were these changes made with the tag 2017 source edit? I've noticed that flood just doesn't work with 2017 source editor, maybe it is time to start a task on phabricator to see if this can be solved... --Ferien (talk) 20:00, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Ferien: I wouldn't know, since I didn't make the changes. I don't even know what the 2017 source editor is. -- Auntof6 (talk) 20:43, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks change

It seems every time I create a page you help by adding categories, did you adopt me? If so, could you make sure Little Trees is simple enough? Lallint (talk) 23:39, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, let me take time to check it out. MathXplore (talk) 05:31, 16 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure if there are simpler words, but dividing into sections will make it easier to read. MathXplore (talk) 05:33, 16 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Lallint (talk) 16:15, 16 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

QD nominations change

Please don't review QD nominations and send them to RfD, etc., for example, here after it was tagged for A4. Admin reviews don't take that long, and we do know what to do if there is a claim to notability in an article. --Ferien (talk) 07:42, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Again, please don't do this - there was no claim to notability here and it could have been quickly deleted easily. --Ferien (talk) 19:48, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove change

Wow, thanks for adding all the categories to Wikidata! I had 48 notifications. I was a little surprised that so few of these categories existed when I started making them. I hope they are actually useful. Lights and freedom (talk) 06:24, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
