@Ferien: Hi Ferien, no I'm not from the English Wikipedia. I mainly edit the English Wikivoyage, and am an admin on the Nauruan wikipedia. I only revert vandalism on enwiki. @Hockeycatcat:, sorry for a late response. Was interrupted by Ljupco with this. For some advice with this guy (he seems more active here than where I'm usually at: Wikivoyage). I'll share you a bit of advice (on another wiki, otherwise Ljupco will target this once protection ends and I'll not openly disclose as you'll get a message anyway), and also, I would recommend applying for rollback at WP:RFP/R, which is better than Twinkle. He is the vandal behind all this. He has mental health issues, and has been to Cook County Jail in Illinois for electrical harassment. In his world, he is basically innocent, and we who are all apparently socks of Antandrus, are the vandals. p.s. this "apparantly" also includes Stewards like Bsadowaski1 as well. Yes. It's painful for people who are banned to accept that they are themselves to blame for their own troubles. Unsurprisingly, they gather together in forums to abuse Wikipedia -- and in particular those who do good work on it. Makes them feel better. "We can't possibly be wrong; all of THEM must be." Why did you warn them again?

Don't worry about that. Fingerslip rollbacks happen all the time (I do about 2 every week), although I wouldn't recommend the script though, as it just makes reverting vandalism a lot slower and harder SHB2000 (talk) 14:01, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

here I have found some example scripts that shows a confirm dialog before rolling back (if you do want to use them): [2], [3], [4]. did you use mobile or computer? many rollback accidents happen om mobile.

About your edit on the Corinthian War page: you do not have to be the page creator to request QD/G7. The admins don't necessarily see every time an editor blanks a page they created, so having another editor place a QD template can be helpful. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:42, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Archiving

Saw on Simple Talk that you had trouble with getting your archiving box to work and needed to use redirects. I fixed it to how I think you wanted it without the need for redirects. A user gets a global lock usually for the following four reasons:

• Cross wiki abuse
• Very abusive usernames (often they are insulting, and/or they leak personal info, but could also mean some really harsh names)
• Long-term abuse
• Spambots (these are often accounts that can self create and so when they're identified, they should be immediately blocked locally and then globally locked)

There is a fifth one, which is very rare, but that is an office or a community global ban, which are unappealable most of the time. Although there is no set criteria for a global lock though, but these are just the common reasons used. And to global blocks for IPs, it's usually just x-wiki abuse or LTAs. If the unblock request isn't vandalism or attack then just letting it be is better imo. If it's trolling, admin will block TPA. Just reverting it sometimes causes revert war, and is in a few ways counterproductive.-BRP ^ever 12:25, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

When someone makes an unblock request – regardless of whether it is appropriate or not – they are always asking for an admin to look at unblock them, because they've put the {{unblock}} template. Commenting or reverting their request or marking the talk page for deletion will just confuse them as they wanted an admin's attention, not anyone else's. As far as I'm aware there's no rule against it, it's just not recommended to go near an unblock request as a non-admin as it can cause confusion and, as BRPever mentioned, revert wars. --Ferien (talk) 20:32, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Quick deletion requests

Option G11 can be used for spam pages, but not for redirects to spam pages. After a spam page is deleted, option R1 can be used. While we're on the subject, it's helpful if you use the QD codes instead of text reasons, because 1) it makes it obvious that a valid option is being used and 2) it automatically fills in the reason for the deleting admin. --Auntof6 (talk) 11:51, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Wikivoyage

Hello SHB2000! As you are senior to me in case of Wikivoyage, I want suggestions from you! I want to create Manipur related pages in English Wikivoyage as well as creating a Meitei version of Wikivoyage! @Haoreima: Thanks for volunteering to come over to us. It would be really nice for us to have more pages about Manipur as looking at en:voy:Category:Manipur, there is only three pages underneath it, which is very low in my opinion, and it would be really great to have more articles. (however, this does not just seem to be Manipur, but also any other state in NE India that's not Arunachal Pradesh or Assam)

In simple, what Wikivoyage is mostly about is pages for cities, parks (usually national parks), huge airports, but we also have travel topics, and phrasebooks, and the English Wikivoyage does not have a Meitei phrasebook yet. Travel topics range from all sorts of things which you can see here. There's a good full explanation here.

To starting a mni version of voy, it'd need to be done in the incubator. I don't exactly know how that works though. If you need any help with anything, I'll be sure to help out :) SHB2000 (talk) 20:06, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Also, we also put less emphasis on the history and understand section, and put more emphasis on the Get in, get around, see, do, eat, drink, sleep and buy sections. A little bit confusing for newcomers like me. Well, I saw there's a great shortage of Manipur related articles, as you had said. So, my first approach is towards all the Districts of Manipur. First, I want to create articles on them, especially about the "plain districts/valley districts", because I know more about them, compared to the "hill districts". Shall I start with sandbox? Meitei wikivoyage under incubator's Incubation: I started creating articles on Wikimedia incubator for a future Meitei wikivoyage. My first article is this. Well, regarding the rules of incubator, to get approved as a complete independent project, that particular project needs: (1) at least 3 active users, to be active for 3 consecutive months, (2) at least 10 edits from those 3 users every month, (3) at least 1000 articles! If you do visit at Wy/mni incubator at your free time, it will be really helpful for us (even for minor edits, even though you don't know Meitei language), because there's less Meitei Wikimedians, in the WMF. Can I add Christian Churches and Jewish Synagogues as places to see in wikivoyage articles? I think people of other faiths are allowed to go inside there, right!
