We have a special page that describes how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles.

Hi, have a look at the talk:homosexuality page. Let me know what you think. :) NickGorton 04:57, 18 May 2005 (UTC)NickReply

Things to ask questions about change

Redirects from misspellings change

User:Netoholic reviewed some of my delete of moved/corrected page titles, and kept the original misspelled pages.
Is it really 'cheap' enough to keep the misspelled pages as redirects? If so, cool. (I'll be leaving them as-is now until I learn differently.)

Links within common headings in very common date pages change

Fixing a typo within 1933 that had heading Films Released I began to wonder whether the Film should be converted to a link Films. The idea is that, as this 'is' the Simple wiki, perhaps even simple terms should always be linked. But I do see that both film and movie are in the Wikipedia:VOA Special English Word Book word list.
Should common terms like Film and Song in these common headings be left well enough alone?

New pages with little or no content change

I find new pages that no content or as little content as 'hi'. Examples are (20 May 2005) Poland and Boavista.
Should I enter delete or pdel? If so, what explanation to mention?
What amount of content constitutes a 'stub' that should be left to grow? That is, what is good enough as a 'placemarker'?

Is every little typO/spellink/glitch worth fixing? change

I find a page that begins "An Amount of ..."
Is making an edit to lowercase the second word "worth it" to the Wiki?

Interwiki link change

Shenme, to do a visible interwiki like the one on your user page, simply add colon to the front of the link. So, writing Commons Main Page will create this link: Commons Main Page. You can create links to any page in any wiki in this fashion. For another example, my user page has a link to my user page at English Wikipedia. The colon after the brackets also work for categories (if you're refering to a category but don't want to make the page you are in a part of that category) and to images (a link to the image versus simply showing the image). --Ricky81682 (talk) 04:54, 21 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Strange glitch change

Actually, that's simply laziness on my part. The other years were correct; 2002 was simply sorted under "2" as in 2002. It's a matter of sorting with in the category. For example, if you look at the code (not the page itself but go to edit the page and look at it) for 2007, you'll see that I wrote it as , which would sort it in Category:2007 under *. This is so that the article would be the first one in the category. At this point, these categories are pretty much empty so I was a little lazy with my work. P.S. remember to sign you name on talk pages with four tildes ("~~~~") so that it's easier to respond and to keep track of conversations. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 02:22, 30 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ital is a Rasta diet. See wikipedia, so he was selling special ital type foods, fish as well I believe. Perhaps I could link the article to the ital article I just gave you. i will do so. Cheers, SqueakBox 20:08, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Simple link change

It's not really a problem on User:SqueakBox's user page. Well, now he's changed it. Let me try this for example. The link :simple:User talk:Shenme shows up as simple:User talk:Shenme because simple:User talk:Shenme refers this page that I'm writing on. It's Shenme's user talk page in the Simple wiki. You don't even need the simple part as you can see with this link: User talk:Shenme. The point is, if you make a link to the page you're in, it won't create a link to itself; it will simply put it in bold. Try it on any page. I didn't even think about this myself until you brought it up. Also, regarding changing the B, it will show up as a red link, since everything is case-sensitive here. Unless of course, there's a user that exactly spelling for their user name. A minor note. If you have questions, please use my talk page. It's much easier for me to have conversations on than email, oddly enough. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 04:50, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Little Typos change

Even little a typo is worth correcting. One of the objctives of "simple english" is learning. Everyone learns from what he sees, and everyone may remember what he saw, and reproduce it. --Purodha Blissenbach 21:09, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

re: Romanized Chinese change

Thanks, I appreciate the explanation. - PhilipR 15:17, 29 Jun 2005 (UTC)

'Sins' change

You are forgiven, my brother/sister. -Hailey!

Old/New dates change

Shenme, I saw that your comment regarding Leon Trotsky. If you look at the page now, I think I have a solution to the dating issue. I simply wrote both dates but with (O.S.) for Old Style linking to the article on the Julian calendar and (N.S.) for New Style linking to the article on the Gregorian calendar. What do you think? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 4 July 2005 04:11 (UTC)

Thanks change

Thanks for fixing Lombardy :-) it was my first article on simple and while I was asking myself if it was all right or too easy or too difficult I made a lot of typos ;-)...Ciao e buona giornata (transl. have a nice day) --Civvi 4 July 2005 08:58 (UTC)

Roberto change

I have to disappoint you but since they are the only two active admins here, I'm not sure if anyone else can block him. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 05:46, 21 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Next time, please make sure to use my main Wikipedia Talk page. -- Netoholic @ 06:16, 21 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

3RR change

Shenme, I'm aware of the Three-revert rule per English wikipedia. You can see that it says that this does not apply to vandalism. So it should not stop you from trying to stop vandalism. Otherwise, I'd agree with you and would be willing to serve a one-day ban if necessary. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 03:59, 22 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Comment requested change

Hi Shenme, I don't know how much you are still around Simple English Wikipedia, but I would like your comment on Wikipedia talk:Simple English Wikipedia#Policy issue because you were part of the discussion on Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not and this discussion is directly related. Thanks! --Cromwellt|talk 20:33, 8 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Babel boxes change

The Babel boxes have been revamped to conform to a new accepted scheme. Please recreate your boxes or change the references to fit with the new standard format. The old boxes will be deleted. Ask me any questions on my talk page. Thanks! --Cromwellt|talk 01:38, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject change

Hi! I noticed you speak some Chinese and I was wondering if you might know some things about Chinese music - anything ranging from classical (such as traditional music) to modern (such as C-pop and C-rock). If so, would you like to join my Simple WikiProject Asian Music? Even small contributions are much appreciated. Thanks! Alexhl (talk) 12:56, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
