Scoschana Rabinovici

Would you help me fix the spelling of the header of this enty. The reason there are no links to this article is because the name is misspelled. This page should be titled Schoschana Robinovici, NOT Scoschana Rabinovici. Thanks for your help. George.kvakovszky

I'm afraid I cannot find either page. Has someone deleted it? DJDunsie (talk) 10:44, 5 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
I see you were talking about en.WP. It's been done by someone else. Thanks, DJDunsie (talk) 10:47, 5 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Big Airport Weekend - January 20-23

We want to invite you to participate in the Big Airport Weekend on Jan 20-23. (See: WP:Big Weekend) The purpose of this weekend is to improve SEWP's coverage of airports and airport related articles. A few tasks and guidelines:

  1. Add {{Infobox airport}} to all airport articles
  2. To improve existing articles and stubs in the Category:Airports including subcategories.
  3. To add new articles on airports. (Any airport with regular commercial service or where a historic event happened is notable enough for an article.)
  4. Airports can be civilian, military, and anywhere in the world.
  5. Add BAW (for Big Airport Weekend) to the edit summaries to help keep track of the changes.
  6. Please use the {{inuse}} template to avoid edit conflicts with other BAW participants.

Barnstars will be liberally rewarded for your airport efforts. Let me know if you have any questions. Please join us to have fun and to improve SEWP. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 19:29, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Big Weekends

Hi DJDunsie, I was reading through the discussion on the Big Weekend talk page and have tried to come with a solution. I saw you suggested a Science weekend which did not get much support, but someone suggested a more focussed Space Weekend. I know I was surprised when I started editing here how few space article we had. I know you are interested in astronomy related articles.I was wondering whether you would be interested in coordinating a Big Space Weekend in May? I have put some suggestions for what a coordinator needs to do on the talk page. Have a look at the page and let me know if you are interested. We could do more to clarify what areas should/need to be covered. --Peterdownunder (talk) 05:55, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I noticed the array of quotes on your user page. I wonder if you know this one?
"I am only one, but I am one. I can not do everything, but I can do something. I must not fail to do the something that I can do."
According to WikiQuote here, these sentences are wrongly attributed to Helen Keller, but I still think of her when I remember the words.

We all do what we can. It may not be everything, but it is something. --Horeki (talk) 18:35, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Indeed it is a wise, motivational quote and very relevant to our every day lives, especially when being judged by others. Thank you for sharing it with me. I have added it to the list. DJDunsie (talk) 18:57, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Accountancy article

What do you think of my changes to the accountancy article?--RJR3333 (talk) 08:49, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

They are good changes on the whole. Perhaps the article could be made a little simpler. In the Accounting Theory section, you could explain what each term in the accounting equation means. You could also simplify the rest of the article, for example:

  • amongst (archaic) → among
  • primitive → early, simple
  • determine → see
  • weaned → were eating normal food
  • represented a huge cognitive leap for mankind → meant that thought had gone forward very far
  • quantified his public expenditure → showed how much he was spending in public
  • encompassed distributions → included giving out money
  • subsidies to the → money to things in the public’s interest such as
  • state revenue and expenditure → the money coming into the state and out of it
  • demonstrate Augustus' munificence → show that Augustus was very generous
  • illustrates → shows
  • was still retrievable → could still be gotten back
  • scope → range
  • at the emperor's disposal → which the emperor had
  • encompassed → included

Well done for including references; well done especially for including books which are generally reliable sources. Perhaps, to make them slightly tidier, you could use the {{cite book}} template.

I would change the etymology section to what follows:

The word ''accountant'' came from the older English word ''accomptant''. This word came from the French word {{lang|fr|''compter''}} which came from the Latin word ''computare'' – ‘’to reckon, count, number’’.

The word ‘’accomptant’’ was the original spelling and pronunciation of the word ‘’accountant’’. However, over time, people began to drop the ‘’p’’ in the word ‘’accomptant’’. [[wikt:gradual|Gradually]], the word changed both in the way it was said and [[orthography|spelt]] to how it is how it is today.<ref>{{cite book|last=Pixley|first=Francis William|title=Accountancy –Constructive and Recording Accountancy|publisher=Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, Ltd.|location=London|date=1900|page=4|url=http://www.archive.org/download/accountancyconst00pixluoft/accountancyconst00pixluoft.pdf}}</ref>

Hey there, I can't believe I haven't noticed you until now! (This just proves how inactive I'm becoming. :/) Your help 'round here seems great! Also, thanks for signing my guestbook. :) Bella tête-à-tête 07:56, 10 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Solar System

Hey! I added three new sections on the sandbox. It would be great if you can provide sections (on the sandbox) that we really need on the article so I know which sections I can do. Best, Jonatalk to me 14:17, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm. I am have been banned from editing (by parents). You will have to continue on your own. Sorry for leaving you in the dark, but it is not for me to decide. Best wishes for your future, DJDunsie (talk) 14:22, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
that sucks! I really wanted to collaborate with you on the article  . But okay, I will try my best to get the article in good shape and will try my best to get sections that are important. Hope for the best, Jonatalk to me 14:25, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
