Yahya Awang

Malaysian doctor

Tan Sri Yahya bin Awang (born 7 September 1950) is a heart and chest surgeon from Malaysia. He was born to Awang Hassan, who was the governor of Pulau Pinang from 1981 to 1989, and Khadijah Abdul Rahman, the sister of Ismail Abdul Rahman, Malaysia’s 2nd Deputy Prime Minister.[1] Yahya performed two heart surgeries on Mahathir Mohamad: one in 1989 and another in 2007.[2]
