The famous Hollywood sign stands in Hollywood Hills in [Los Angeles], [California]. ”HOLLYWOOD” is spelled in 45-foot-tall (14) and 350-foot-long (110 m).
History change
In the beginning (1923) the letters builded ”HOLLYWOODLAND” with bulbs on it. 1939 Peg Entwistle jumped from the ”H” and died. 1949 a company offered to remove the four last letters and remove the bulbs to. When people go to Hollywood it´s very popular to take a picture of the hollywood sign and when you are standing in-front of it. 1978 donators gave 27 000 dollar to the hollywood sign trust and they bought new letters of steel from Australia. 2008 they took away the old colour and painted new shiny white.
