Dates change
Hi Amaury, you have been changing some of the date formats. Please read the manual of style on dates: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Dates as your changes are incorrect and have to be undone. Thanks, Peterdownunder (talk) 10:45, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message. I'm just so used to the date format over here that I can never remember the format for other places. Also, thanks for the welcome. - Amaury (talk) 15:14, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Warning substitution change
Hello. When you warn (or welcome) users, please add {{subst:x}} instead of just {{x}}. This substitutes the template as words instead of having to access the template every time. It helps the server from having unnecessary loads (so I've heard when I made the same "mistake"). In your recent comment, I added the subst: already so you do not have to. Thanks, --Chemicalinterest (talk) 20:06, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Welcome flood change
Hi, I noticed that you flooded the RC without first asking for the flood flag. --Bsadowski1 05:26, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Groan. I took a random sample of ten users you just welcomed. Between the ten of them I found exactly one edit, and that was the creation of a spam userpage that matched the user's name. There's no point in welcoming users who haven't edited. The sad fact is that many, many accounts are registered that never edit even once. Beeblebrox (talk) 05:32, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've never understood that. What's the point of people registering if certain people aren't even going to edit whatever wiki...? - Amaury (talk) 07:06, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Usually here, we welcome users who have at least 1 new edit, maybe more. --Bsadowski1 07:07, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Got it! I just think that if people are going to register, they should edit. Otherwise, they're just taking a name a person who's actually going to edit could use. - Amaury (talk) 07:08, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
