How I did it

Look at Special:RecentChanges. These are all the recent changes in the past few minutes to this encyclopedia. I noticed your contributions and decided to take a look! --Chemicalinterest (talk) 17:23, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

By the way, you can create User:September 1988 and fill it with some of your information. Just don't include your e-mail address, name, etc. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 17:26, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

For clarification, Special:RecentChanges can be made to show more than what is in the past few minutes. By default, it shows the fifty newest changes (except bot edits). However, you can make it show more than the default, by clicking the links on the Special:RecentChanges page, or by making the adjustments in your settings (preferences). Also, regarding your user page, you don't have to make it at all! It is a common practice, however, and it removes red links to your name all around the wiki for pages including your signature or pages linking to your user page. This page tells you all about what you can have {or not have} on your user page. Also, Welcome to Wikipedia! Hazard-SJ Talk 00:05, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Quick deletion of Margaret Cho

The page you wrote, Margaret Cho, has been selected for quick deletion. This is because the page was a page that didn't say why the subject was notable. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted.

Quick deletion of smiledonator

Lets add some pictures

Hi September 1988, you wanted to know how to add a picture to an article. On the Simple English Wikipedia we can only use images from Wikimedia Commons. So to add a photo for your Sarah Hughes page, go to Commons and do a search. That should help you find the file called "Sarah Hughes.jpg". Then add the picture code: [[Image:picture.jpg|thumb|[width in number of pixels]px|right|Insert caption here]]. Replace "picture.jpg" with "Sarah Hughes.jpg", give it a width size (usually 220px) but as this is a very small original image put in its size of 164px so it looks best. Replace "insert caption here" with something like "Sarah Hughes in 2001" . Save the page and it's done. I have lots of useful codes that I use on my user page so that I can copy and paste them anytime, please use them. If you can not find the picture you want on Commons, you are out of luck, unless you grab a camera and take your own. I have had to do that a few times, and then upload them to Commons. I look forward to seeing you add photos to all your pages. Ask if there is any questions or problems. Peterdownunder (talk) 08:09, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Undeletion

Trying asking Clementina or nother administrator why your article was deleted. They may undelete, but I must admit many of your recent page starts have been very small, it may be best to concentrate on producung fewer slightly longer articles. Bärliner 11:45, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey. I undeleted your article and moved it to User:September 1988/Generation Y. You can work on the page there, and when it is done it can be moved back to Generation Y. All the page needs is more content and to be wikified.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 12:26, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wait.......

Are you.....a sockpuppet of Angela? Your signature states "Angela a.k.a. September 1988" and besides I've seen Angela around a few times. I'm asking if you could be blocked after this message being posted. Sorry. Loudclaw (talk) 22:25, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

So many very short articles--Please use stub template

I noticed that you've added a lot of very short articles. Please add stub templates to mark them as very short articles. {{stub}} can go on any very short article. {{bio-stub}} should go on very short articles about people. It would be even better to make some of these articles longer or to add images to them. Thanks! Gotanda (talk) 22:56, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for marking all of your recent stubs. That helps a lot. Gotanda (talk) 00:29, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Pictures?

Hi September 1988, you still have not added any pictures. I did another one for you on Chevrolet Silverado. Looking forward to seeing you add a few yourself.--Peterdownunder (talk) 00:22, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey you have done it. Well done! --Peterdownunder (talk) 08:07, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Something new

How to add an interwiki link. A bot will find the article eventually, but to speed things up you need to add a link to the articles on other Wikipedias. The easiest one is to get the link from the English Wikipedia. Open the page and at the very bottom, after the categories and put in double square brackets the letters "en" then a ":" and then the name of the article on the English wikipedia. Here is how to do one for Faith Hill - just add [[en:Faith Hill]] to the very bottom of the page. Bots will do the rest. As long as you have the right article name it will work. --Peterdownunder (talk) 08:20, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

They are working, so well done again. --Peterdownunder (talk) 08:50, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

A question and an idea

Hi,

I have a question and a suggestion for how to improve the many pages you have created here on Simple. Have you gotten some of the information or images from English Wikipedia? Even just some basic information or one or two references? If you have, it is important to make a note about that. Please have a look at the help page How to copy from another Wikipedia, especially step 15. It tells you how to leave a note on the Talk page for new articles.

Thanks,

Gotanda (talk) 01:53, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Some of the images and info are located on the English Wikipedia. Thanks for reminding me. I will take your advice.

Archiving a user talk page

I need help archiving my talk page before it grows too long. I recently tried it and it didn't work.

Miss Angie aka September 1988 (talk) 03:24, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I found the easiest way is to move the page to a subpage, eg User talk:September 1988/Archive1 Bärliner 10:29, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Valerie Bertinelli

I added a couple of links and the BD template to this article. You seem to say it was taken mostly from ENWP, but as I didn't know which version, I couldn't add {{enwp based|url=}} which is SEWP policy. Bärliner 10:26, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Saving Time

I see you have created a lot of people stubs. Did you realize that using the template {{BD}} will save several jobs, as it will automatically add the subject to the correct birth and death categories as well as sorting the name in all categories.

eg {{BD|1981|1982|Barliner, Fred}} would sort the article Fred Barliner into the 1981 births, and the 1982 deaths categories sorted alphabetically by family name. Leaving either the birth or death year blank is possible too. Bärliner 16:40, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi September 1988, it is time you recieved a new book, the Wikipedia Picture Book. This is also available as a Userbox for your user page as well. Good to see you using the BD Template too. Keep up the good work. --Peterdownunder (talk) 04:30, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fascism

I undid your changes to Fascism. I think you may have misinterpreted the first paragraph you changed about the need for schools to teach fascism. Undoing you changes also replaced the interwikis. Keep up the good work. G --Bärliner (talk) 10:24, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Twinkle

I use Firefox to use Twinkle, as I don't think it is compatible with Internet Explorer, but no other permissions or admin status is needed to use twinkle, just tick the gadgets tab in "My preferences". Twinkle can be a pain sometimes. Especially today when I am trying to use an old computer in the library. (Old as in not even got a space to plug in a flash drive). Still it's a great tool, I hope you get it working. --Bärliner (talk) 10:50, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Recent articles

Hi. Thanks for all your work to Simple 'Pedia. I just wanted to note that this page which you created had no links, and was completely unsourced and a bit complex as well. I think you should link important terms/names in articles that you create, and simplify/explain the meanings of confusing terms. I think that would make articles easier to understand. Regards, and thanks again for your work. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 14:07, 14 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Films, movies and stubs

Hi September 1988, good to see you adding more articles. On Simple English, we use the word movie, not film. There is also a special stub for movies, type movie-stub in between the brackets.--Peterdownunder (talk) 03:18, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please be aware that the point of the Most Wanted articles list is for people to write good articles about them. A single sentence without any wikilinks isn't helpful. -DJSasso (talk) 13:36, 20 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rollbacking

Hi Angela,

If you want to read about using Twinkle, the manual is at Wikipedia:Twinkle. It's pretty easy to get used to, but yes, you do need Firefox.

I've seen you reverting vandalism quite a few times, so I've given you the rollback feature. With this, you can undo all consecutive edits that a single user has made to a page. It's quite a powerful tool, so you might want to test it out here first. It should only ever be used on vandalism.

See how you go with that. Twinkle does pretty much the same, just with a few extra features. Osiris (talk) 12:37, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
