- Cyrillic characters are not permitted because it does make things difficult when typing in your username. As you say, we can copy and paste but that can get rather annoying. We also don't allow it because western users may not have the necessary language packs installed to view your name in Cyrillic characters, and just get random rubbish from their browser. - I'm afraid that does sound rather a lot of work for me to go around and sort out your usernames across everything for you. When you join a local project, you do need to comply with local policies.
