Hello, Londium, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

If you would like to test Wikipedia, please use the sandbox. Please do not test Wikipedia by editing its articles.

Good luck and happy editing!

Interwiki links change

Actually I do have to say that I find it odd that you are new as your actions outside of the article space certainly do not support that (Userpage/sandbox and sig) and actually speak of someone who has been around wiki's for a very very long time. Which is even odder as you don't list any association with other wiki's which would account for your knowledge of the syntax and procedures.

As to the links in other languages, all you have to do is pick one of the major wiki's, locate the article on it and you should have a nearly complete list of what languages it already exists in. -- Creol(talk) 08:46, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well by no means am I an expert in wiki syntax, but I know a bit of the basics. I only recently signed up to wikipedia and I admit that I do have a user page on the en:User:Londium, however for some reason, which I am currently trying to establish and hopefully clear my name, I was indefinitely blocked for allegedly being a sock puppet of some banned user (whom I have even never heard of!) furthermore I was banned without even any proof given to me of how I am a sockpuppet or how it was deduced that I was a sockpuppet. I am just going to stay out of conflicts that do not concern me (as I believe I was possibly blocked because of my some of my editss?(thats the only explanation I can think of)). Anyways I am telling you because I do not have anything to hide and am certainly not a sockpuppet of anyone. - LoNdIuM   Speak to meContributions

Wikiprojects change

Apologies for the late reply, I was asleep.
This wikipedia is very small (251,582 small) and whilst we have a number of devoted editors, we couldn't handle in depth wikiprojects yet. There are however, some small ones, for example, Wikiproject Taiwan or Esperanza.

I have to make this clear : I wanted to start a WikiProject: Cities to expand one liners, but some people disagreed. LIAM !

Well why is there a wikiProject with one member? I would be happy to help you if you with that wikiProject. I am currently making London and Great Britain based articles for towns, cities and different demographic data types. If you want help with something we could collaborate on each others talk page I guess?LoNdIuM   Speak to meContributions 21:38, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Signature change

You sign with no date. It is correct and usual for users to put the date with their signature, like ionas talk contribs 17:05, 21 August 2007 (UTC). To do this, put four tildes ~~~~ after the comment. To put only your signature, (no date, this is unusual, but acceptable), put three tildes, and for only the date, put 5 tildes. ionas talk contribs 17:05, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok thanks for the heads up! My problem was that my signature was too long to fit in the auto signature thingy in my settings section so I had to copy paste my signature every time and as a result no time is recorded. -- LoNdIuM   Speak to meContributions 21:31, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming change

Hello. When welcoming, can you only welcome useres that have edits? Many people just create an account here and leave. Thanks, --Isis§(talk) 18:22, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

En:wp effects change

While we do take into consideration the actions of the users here on other wiki's, we tend to favor second chances for most editors as long as the reasons for their blocks are not felt to be disruptive here. We try to judge each editor on their work and interactions here rather than other places. In some cases, this is impossible, such as users known to be persistant vandals, abusive sockpuppetters, or stalkers on en:wp. We just can not allow actions such as that to carry over to this wiki. As long as there are no issues such as edit-warring or incivility, I do not see any reason for the situation there to carry over to here. -- Creol(talk) 12:45, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Blanking change

Hello!
For the article Greek religion, you didn't need to blank the article since there was already a Quick Deletion request on it. This means that an admin will delete the page, blank or not. Blanking a page which just has a deletion notice on it is considered vandalism (for some reason).
Gwib-(talk)- 23:12, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I didn't realise that was the procedure? Anyways I thought Greek religion is a valid redirect to Greek mythology anyway. -- LoNdIuM   Speak to meContributions -- 04:29, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reverting with popups change

To let you know if a vandal has vandalized a page more then once consecutivley you need to go to the page history and hover over the version that was not by them and click revert, because it only undoes one revesion at a time. Oysterguitarist 04:15, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the tip. -- LoNdIuM   Speak to meContributions -- 04:22, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
There is a button called "lastEdit". Hover over that, another popup will come up. On that popup, there is a small button between "editOld" and "cur" called "rv". Click it. It will go to the revert screen, then a message will say "save button has automatically been pressed". In the edit history, the edit summary will say "(Reverted edits by Alice (talk) to last version by Bob using popups)". Ionas Rand [i.'ɔ.na.sız tɔk] 21:17, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Diacritics change

See my comment on the talk page. I'm against mixing scripts. We must operate within the Latin alphabet. That is why 'თბილისი 'is unacceptable. -Ionius Mundus 04:51, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome back change

To Simple English Wikipedia!

Ionas Rand 02:25, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why have yu been indefinitely blocked, and I would like to see the evidence that you are AzdilBagaurov. Since m:Checkuser has not been performed, I think they should release the block and only if you are proven to be that user, should you be blocked. Please explain. Ionas Rand 02:31, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I was blocked because I was alleged to be that AdilBagirov person by an admin (it must have been a few of the articles I edited and maybe 'my pov' was the similar to that blocked user). I tried to explain that I am not and that I have been caught up in something but to no avail. The worst thing was that I was blocked all of a sudden, without any warning or without any evidence. I was really annoyed about that. I've appealed twice now but they dont seem like they will lift my ban. So what can I do? I guess I should just forget about the English wikipedia concentrate on Simple wikipedia. I'm sure my work would be more appreciated here than at the other wiki. -- LoNdIuM   Speak to meContributions -- 04:00, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
My block is similar "over there", only it was for alleged "trolling" and not sockpuppetry. the english wikipedia Ionas Rand 06:05, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
