Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia change

Hi, Tappinen, welcome to Simple English Wikipedia! Thank you for your changes. If you need help, check out the Help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page. Whenever leaving messages on talk pages, please remember to sign your name by typing four 'tildes' (like this: ~~~~); doing this makes your name and the date show up. Also, it helps if you write something in the box that says 'change summary' whenever you change an article. Below are some useful links to make your time here simpler. Happy changing! December 2015 change

Hello, Tappinen! Here at Simple English Wikipedia we use the section heading "Other websites" instead of English Wikipedia's "External links", which you used in "Mikael Agricola". This makes it simpler and easier to read. Please remember to use "Other websites" in articles that you create in the future. Thank you for your help! Thank you for your advice. I am still learning Simple English. --Tappinen (talk) 10:04, 11 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

October 2016 change

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make helpful changes to Wikipedia. However, some of your changes, like those to "Finland", did not seem to be helpful and have been reverted or removed. If you want to try out changing Wikipedia to learn more about how it works, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Rus793 (talk) 17:19, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

In Finland-page, after I added Economy-section and changed Leino and Lönnroth, Bobdog54 reverted something about Coca Cola and Santa Claus. Does the message above mean I should revert one of my edits (if so, which one), or are you going to do it ? --Tappinen (talk) 17:40, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
The edit regarding Coca Cola (a product) and Santa Claus (a tradition or legend) were reverted by User:Tappinen. It was more anecdotal and really did not have much to do with an encyclopedic article on Finland. By all appearances it seemed to be a good-faith edit but perhaps a little out of place. The economy information did have sources and was encyclopedic so I doubt anyone would challenge it. We are a small wiki and we learn by helping each other, notices such as the one above, and by asking questions on a talk page or at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Thank you for your contributions and welcome. Rus793 (talk) 19:45, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I am User:Tappinen, I studied "Difference between revisions of "Finland" and I did not see that I had touched anything regarding Coca Cola (a product) and Santa Claus (a tradition or legend). I know I did not do anything like that intentionally, if I did accidentally it must have disappeared by later edit /revert by User:Bobdog54. Or what ? I'm writing these answers here because it seems I have a lot to learn. --Tappinen (talk) 03:38, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Tappinen: If it helps, the exact edit was: "Santa Claus is an old Finnish tradition, although later the Coca-Cola company introduced him to the world." I added the information in parentheses. I'm sure a form of Santa Claus is a Finnish tradition, as are versions of his legend all throughout Europe. And Coca Cola themselves only claim to have helped "shape the image of Santa". In the article, the sentence followed one about the two most important festivals celebrated in Finland (Midsummer and Christmas). You could add a mention of joulupukki, the Finnish legend and how he compares to the modern version of Santa Claus or you could add something about how midsummer is celebrated. In either case a reliable source citation would be very helpful for readers. Or, you could either create or copy an article on en:Joulupukki (this is a link to the English Wikipedia article). As this one has no source citations it might be easier just to create an article from scratch and include the source citations used for the information in the article. Just a suggestion... If you'd like any help, just ask. Thanks and good luck with your editing. Rus793 (talk) 14:50, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
None of that is my text. I agree it should not be there. So I wonder how it became credited to me. --Tappinen (talk) 15:04, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I cannot say why that is. But I believe you so, disregard the above comments. If you like you can just archive the above conversation. Thanks Rus793 (talk) 15:07, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
