New regulations

change

It was the first season under the name "Nationalliga". There were also new regulations. More professionalism should emerge. There were the terms “contract and licensed players” . Minimum monthly compensation was set. Each club needs a full-time or licensed physical education teacher and two assistant coaches. The grounds had to have a capacity for 10,000 spectators with 1,500 seats and the club had to be based in a town that, including its catchment area (a radius of 30 kilometres or 19 miles), had at least 30,000 inhabitants. With 200,000 inhabitants in the same area another club was able to receive the National League license. The club had to prove that it had an average of 1,500 spectators per game in the year before promotion . It was required that it was economically sound.

The National League Commission had decided to give the upcoming champions a bonus of 55,000 schillings, while the eleventh-placed team would receive another 5,000 schillings. A total of 330,000 schillings had to be paid out.[1]
