2022 Sri Lankan presidential election

Parliament of Sri Lanka voting through a secret ballot to select a President to serve the remainder of Gotabaya Rajapaksa's term

Presidential elections were held in Sri Lanka on 20 July 2022. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa left the country on 13 July 2022 instead of resigning as he promised.[1][2] Ranil Wickremesinghe won the election and will serve a term of 2 years.[3]
