General elections were held in Uruguay on 27 October 2024.[2][3] Since no presidential candidate won a majority in the first round of voting, a runoff took place on 24 November 2024. Former Canelones Department Intendant Yamandú Orsi of the Broad Front beat former Senator Álvaro Delgado of the Republican Coalition in the run-off by a 52% to 47% margin.[4]
