Aberfan disaster
October 1966 mining disaster in Wales, UK
The Aberfan disaster occurred on 21 October 1966.[1] It was the collapse of a colliery spoil tip onto the village of Aberfan in Glamorgan, Wales. It killed 144 people, most of them children.[1]
