Abraham Cowley (1618-1677) was an English writer, a poet and essayist. He wrote and published his first book of poetry at the young age of fifteen years, when he was still at school.
His most famous book was a collection of love poems, The Mistress (1647). Later, he also published a collection of essays in 1668, which was also quite popular.
