Agatha Harkness

Agatha Harkness is a fictional character and anti-heroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in Fantastic Four #94 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Fictional character biography

She is a powerful witch who is the mentor of the Scarlet Witch and an ally of the Fantastic Four when she babysat Mr. Fantastic and Invinsible Woman's baby, Franklin Richards. She also has a companion, Ebony, who is her cat familiar.

Powers and abilities

Her most potent spells seem to be precognitive, communicative, analytical, or manipulative of living beings' minds, though she has cast powerful transportation spells and lent tremendous power to others. She generally does not engage in direct magical combat due to the physical limitations of her advanced age.

In other media

The character is played by American actress Kathryn Hahn in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) miniseries WandaVision (2021), and reprised her role in a spin-off series about the character, Agatha All Along.
