Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee

The Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee were the union behind the 1965 Grape Boycott, led by Larry Itliong & Ben Gines, in order to get an increase in hourly pay, 1.25$ to 1.40$, as well as better working conditions and hours. It began as predominantly Filipino, then proceeding to have a large number of Mexican workers joining as a bid to stop the grape sellers from undercutting their efforts.[1]
