Brazilian composer (1946–2020)

Aldir Blanc Mendes (2 September 1946 – 4 May 2020) was a Brazilian songwriter. He co-composed many songs with singer-songwriter João Bosco, guitarist Guinga, and others. He was born in Rio de Janeiro.[1] Elis Regina recorded several of his songs such as "O bêbado e a equilibrista".

Blanc's work from 1972 to 1987, he was analyzed by Charles A. Perrone in Masters of Contemporary Brazilian Song MPB 1965–1985.

Blanc died of COVID-19 on 4 May 2020 in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 73.[2]
