Alfred B. Hilton

United States Army Medal of Honor recipient

Alfred B. Hilton (1842 – October 21, 1864) was a sergeant in the Union Army in Company H, 4th US Colored Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on September 29, 1864 at Chapin's Farm, Virginia during the American Civil War. His citation reads "When the regimental color bearer fell, this soldier seized the colors and carried it forward, together with the national standard, until disabled at the enemy's inner line."
