Amalia Aguilar
Cuban-Mexican rumbera and actress (1924–2021)
Amalia Isabel Rodríguez Carriera (3 July 1924 – 8 November 2021), known professionally as Amalia Aguilar, was a Cuban-born Mexican dancer, vedette, actress and comedian. Her career began in 1946 and she retired in 2003. Aguilar was born in Matanzas, Cuba.
Aguilar filmed 23 movies in just 10 years and appeared with many well known actors such as Buster Keaton. She appeared in Al son del mambo, Ritmos del Caribe, Amor perdido and The Cha Cha Cha Widows during the 1950s.
Aguilar died on 8 November 2021 in Miami, Florida at the age of 97.[1][2]
