Amber Josephine Liu is a Taiwanese-American singer, rapper, and songwriter. She was born on September 18, 1992, in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Taiwan and the United States. Amber first gained prominence as a member of the K-pop girl group f(x), which debuted in 2009 under SM Entertainment.[1]

Amber joined f(x) as the group's rapper and sub-vocalist, and quickly gained a reputation for her unique style and androgynous appearance. The group released several successful albums and singles, including "Electric Shock", "Rum Pum Pum Pum", and "4 Walls", before going on hiatus in 2016.
