Americo-Liberians constitute an ethnic group in Liberia, originating from African American, Afro-Caribbean, and liberated African backgrounds. Their lineage can be traced back to free-born individuals and formerly enslaved African Americans who migrated to Liberia in the 19th century, playing a pivotal role in establishing the nation.
