Amir Ohana

Israeli politician, Speaker of the 25th Knesset

Amir Ohana, Hebrew: אמיר אוחנה‎‎ , (born March 15, 1976 in Beer Sheba Israel) is an Israeli politician and lawyer. Previously he worked at Shin Bet (internal intelligence agency of Israel). He is the Speaker of the Knesset (Israeli parliament) since 29 December 2022.

Ohana has been a Member of the Knesset for Likud since 2015. He is the first openly gay MK for his party.[1]

From 2019 to 2020 he was justice minister in the Fourth Netanyahu Government, and from 2020 to 2021 he was minister of internal security in the Fifth Netanyahu Government.
