Ancient Meitei literature is literature of Ancient Meitei language (Old Manipuri language) of Ancient Kangleipak (early Manipur). All the books for it are written in the old Meitei script. The books are called "the Puyas". Most ancient Meitei language books need to be translated into simplified language to make readers understand them.
