Andrew Desjardins

Andrew Desjardins (born July 27, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He played parts of eight seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the San Jose Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks. He also played five seasons with Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) and two seasons with EC VSV of the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL).

Before playing in the NHL, Desjardins played four seasons Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He turned professional and played 1 seasons with the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League (CHL). He then played five games with the Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL.

On June 26, 2010, the San Jose Sharks signed Desjardins as a free agent.[1] He played parts of five years with the San Jose Sharks.

On March 2, 2015, the Sharks traded Desjardins to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Ben Smith.[2] He would play three seasons with the Blackhawks. In his first season with the team, Desjardins would help the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup after they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4 games to 2.[3]

After not being renewed after his contract ran out, Desjardins signed a deal to play for Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) on October 12, 2017.[4] He would play five seasons with the Mannheim.

He would play two seasons with EC VSV of the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL).[5]

After his contract was finished, Desjardins decided to retire from playing professional ice hockey on July 10, 2024. After retirement, he would become an assistant coach for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).[6]
