Anita Pointer

American singer-songwriter (1948–2022)

Anita Marie Pointer (January 23, 1948 – December 31, 2022) was an American singer and songwriter. She is most notable for being a member of the R&B singing group The Pointer Sisters. With the group, she performed the lead vocals for songs such as "Yes We Can Can" "Fire", "Slow Hand" and "I'm So Excited". She was born in Oakland, California.

On December 31, 2022, Pointer died at the age of 74.[1] She died from cancer.[2]
