Antonio Stradivari

Italian stringed instrument maker, 1644-1737

Antonio Stradivari (1644 – 18 December 1737) was an Italian luthier (a person who makes stringed instruments). He made violins, violas, cellos, guitars, and harps. The instruments he made are called Stradivarius, or Strad for short. Many people think that he is the greatest violin maker. Around 650 of the instruments he made survive.[1]
