On April 2, 2021, a car crashed in the north barricade outside the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., along Constitution Avenue,[1] killing a Capitol Police officer and injuring another.[2] The Capitol was placed under a lockdown with only a few members were present in the building during the attack.[3][4]

The perpetrator, 25-year-old African American Noah Ricardo Green, died at a hospital after being shot.[5]
