Area code 718 is an area code of New York. It was created in 1984 as a split from 212.[1][2] It covers the boroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. It was overlaid by 917 in 1992, 347 in 1999,[3] and 929 in 2011.[4]
