Area codes 760 and 442 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). It is used in the state of California in the United States. Area code 760 was created in 1997, as a split from area code 619. It covers a large region in southeastern and eastern California, including cities and communities like Oceanside, Carlsbad, Victorville, Palm Springs, Ridgecrest, Bishop, as well as some parts of the Mojave Desert, the Coachella Valley, the Death Valley, and the Sierra Nevada. It was overlaid by 442 in 2009.
